Hi, I’m Yusuf Ahmed from Turkey. I have recently established a company in the UAE and I’m planning to open a Business One Account with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB). Could you please guide me on the documents required for opening an ADIB business bank account? I would also like to know what documents are required from shareholders and authorized signatories.

I’m Kuldeep, Head of the Banking Team at DhanGuard. I work with entrepreneurs, startups, and international investors to help them navigate UAE business banking requirements and choose the right banking solutions for their companies.

For an ADIB Business One Account, the bank requires documents to verify the company’s legal status, ownership structure, and the identity of shareholders and authorized signatories. The exact requirements may vary depending on your business activity and company profile, but generally, you will need:

Company Documents

  • Valid UAE Trade License.
  • Certificate of Incorporation.
  • Share Certificate.
  • Memorandum of Association (MOA).
  • Power of Attorney (POA), if applicable.

Shareholder & Authorized Signatory Documents

  • Passport copies of all shareholders, partners, and authorized signatories.
  • UAE Residence Visa copies (where applicable).
  • Original Emirates IDs for UAE residents.

Address Verification Documents

  • Recent utility bill.
  • Ejari or tenancy contract.
  • Recent bank statement showing personal or company address.

For foreign investors, Abu Dhabi Islamic Business Bank Account  may also ask for additional information related to the company’s activities, source of funds, expected transaction volume, and business operations as part of the compliance process.

A common reason for delays in business account opening is incomplete documentation or missing shareholder details. I always suggest preparing all ownership and company-related documents beforehand to ensure a smoother review process.

Once the complete documents are submitted and compliance checks are completed, the account opening process generally takes around 5 to 15 working days.

Hi,

To open a Abu Dhabi Islamic Business Bank Account, you'll generally need your company's incorporation documents along with identification and address documents for the partners and authorised signatories.

Core Corporate Documents

You should typically prepare:

  • Valid UAE Trade License or Incorporation Certificate
  • Memorandum of Association (MOA)
  • Share Certificate showing the ownership structure
  • Power of Attorney (POA) if someone is authorised to act on behalf of the partners

Identification Documents

ADIB may require:

  • Valid passports of all partners and authorised signatories
  • Original or valid Emirates IDs for UAE-resident partners and signatories
  • UAE residence visas for expatriate partners and authorised signatories

Proof of Address

You should also keep:

  • Company office lease agreement or Ejari
  • Residential address proof for authorised signatories or partners, where requested

The bank may request additional documents during its KYC and compliance review, depending on your business activity, ownership structure, expected transactions, and source of funds.

One practical tip: make sure the company name, shareholder details, and authorised-signatory information are consistent across all documents. Even small discrepancies can lead to additional verification and delay the account-opening process.
