Hi, I'm Faisal from Saudi Arabia. My business prefers Islamic banking, and I'm trying to decide between ADIB and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB). Which one is the better option for a business account?
I'm Kuldeep, Head of the Banking Team at DhanGuard. Both Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) are excellent choices if you're looking for Sharia-compliant business banking. Both banks structure their products in accordance with Islamic finance principles using arrangements such as Murabaha, Mudaraba, and Ijara.
The right choice depends on the type of business you run and the banking experience you're looking for.

Business Connect offers no minimum balance, with a monthly fee of approximately AED 125 |
Standard business accounts generally require an average balance of around AED 50,000, while the e-Trader account offers a zero-balance option for eligible freelancers. |

ADIB Direct provides strong corporate banking features, including payroll and cash management. |

Usually 14–28 days, depending on the business structure and documentation. |
In practice, I usually recommend ADIB to startups and SMEs that want a lower entry barrier, especially because the Business Connect package doesn't require maintaining a monthly average balance.
On the other hand, Dubai Islamic Bank can be an excellent fit for businesses that already have an established banking relationship or specifically want its Islamic financing products and corporate banking services.
We recently advised a trading company that wanted Sharia-compliant banking while keeping its operating costs under control during its first year. Since maintaining a high average balance wasn't practical for them, ADIB proved to be the better fit because of its Business Connect package and faster onboarding process.
At the end of the day, both banks follow the same Islamic banking principles. The decision usually comes down to your expected transaction volume, balance requirements, digital banking preferences, and the type of financing you may need in the future.
